The Audience Speaks
"I'm really enjoying it so far, I'm getting a lot of good
information first hand by the Nielsen Norman group, and so far
I think it's been very valuable. I think the speakers were very
good."
-Bobby Beamer, AIMR, VA
"I've learned a lot of very useful information I can
take back and help me on the projects I work on. I'm learning a
lot, that's great. I think the full day of speakers is also very
good because every hour, you got a totally different perspective,
from someone different, so I thought it was a good mix of speakers,
diverse information."
-Roxanne Christophe, Duke Energy, TX
"The information and the details they are getting into are
very helpful, actually it's just good to see both usability
experts talking, not just reading their books. You get a sense of
their personalities and attitudes. There is a lot of great enthusiasm,
you know, when there are a lot of people around you doing the same
thing. It makes you feel that's its more worthwhile."
-Jagpreet "Ravi" Singh, Aquent, TX

Tog's Seminar on Basic Interaction Design"I have been very pleased with everything so far. Tog has given a great presentation, very lively but definitely very focused. We (three participants from the same group) came up here with a very clear purpose, and we're definitely coming out with exactly
what we came for"
"I think it's fantastic. It's everything that I hoped for.
I'm enjoying everything, its just wonderful I mean Tog has presented
us with a methodology, and we have been just trying to come up with
one. It's really worked out. Couldn't have asked for better."
"As a manager, it helps me understand the usability people
on my team, and hopefully to solve some of our problems. It's been great."
-Harry Smoak and his team, Earthlink, GA
"He's good! Entertaining, but in a useful
kind of way." "Really interesting to see the results they got in the studies."
-Carol Peterson & Mary Beth Rettger, The MathWorks, MA
"Tog is really good ... he shows us how we can actually
implement this. I've heard him talk before and like his real
world scenarios. He's very good at that."
-Mark Trammell, University of Florida, FL
"I think so far it exceeded my expectations ... Tognazzini
is a very compelling speaker, he's funny, and the information he's been teaching us has been very relevant to me, as he talked a lot about how you can do the design process within an organization, and more specifically, what are the pitfalls in the process."
-Ami Mehta, HP, CA

Beyond ALT Text: Designing for Users with Disabilities
"It was very good, a usability perspective. It was very grounded
in reality, grounded in user experience. The w3 guidelines are very technical, so it was good to hear it from a different perspective."
-Allan Sutherland, Technology for Disabilities Information Service, UK

Tutorials
"Yesterday was great, and today I've been very happy
When I read in the website about the usability testing class, I
was a little concerned that it would be too basic. It is for beginners,
but at the same time it is still helpful for me to hear particularly
the arguments for ROI, I mean that's just huge, in our company
there is a lack of awareness so when I'm going to start making my
arguments, I'm going to need every arrow in my quiver I can get,
and for that this was particularly useful."
-Amy Emmatty & Michael Nolan, Freddie Mac, VA
"I'm a developer, and could come for only one day. I wanted
something that for the shortest amount of time could teach me the
most, and I think today ('intro to user testing') is doing that.
It is being not only in an environment where I can interact with
other people doing this, but also hearing professionals, and having
them answer my questions is great."
-Rick Whittington, VA

"It's really useful...The tutorial (IA) has been really really
good. I've been exposed to information architecture before, but
haven't felt like I can put it all together, so they're really helping
me in taking this further."
-Brett Ineram, Nationwide Insurance, OH
"It's great. I'm having a very educational experience. I think Lou [Rosenfeld] and Margaret [Hanley] are addressing all of my concerns. It's
been wonderful. I like the fact that it's a relatively small conference,
you can meet people but also be fruitfully involved in the sessions."
-Linda Hancock Green, University of Michigan, MI
