Chris Callaghan is Head of Digital at Jaywing, a UK marketing agency. He specialises in UX leadership and consultancy — helping brands build insight-driven practices that improve experiences and drive performance.
Chris is a multidisciplinary UX leader with experience spanning research, strategy, design, testing, and optimisation. He brings particular depth in insight-led decision-making, guiding teams to identify, prioritise, and resolve friction through triangulation of methods and data.
Over a 15-year UX career, Chris has built and led cross-functional digital teams in start-ups and network agencies. His work spans e-commerce, finance, travel, and education, with a focus on insight-led product and experience improvement. A committed mentor and community contributor, Chris is passionate about developing others, with spirit of service at the heart of his ethos.
In 2024, Chris led NNGroup's UXC Mentorship Program and has also delivered NNGroup webinars on Conversion Research and Prototyping.
As NNGroup's first UX Ambassador, he has contributed case studies to multiple courses and was among the first in the UK to achieve UX Master Certification. He also contributes to the wider UX community through writing, speaking, and authorship, including O'Reilly Media’s 97 Things Every UX Practitioner Should Know.
Chris holds a BA(Hons) in Industrial Design (Product) with Computer Applications. He is NNGroup UX Master Certified and holds additional certifications in a range of UX analytics tools. Chris is based in Manchester, UK
